Frank privacy policy · Updated September 13, 2026 · Applies to frank. and the G3 Full, Monster and Uncaged developer editions.

What Frank handles

Frank reads visible webpage text and its on-screen position locally to animate letters and objects. This can include email message text or other personal content visible on a page. Page content is processed in the tab's memory; it is not transmitted to us or another server, sold, used for advertising, or used to train models.

The extension checks the current site's hostname to respect excluded and muted sites. It stores your settings, muted hostnames, encounters and discoveries locally using Chrome storage. It does not request the browsing-history permission or keep a record of the pages you visit. Temporary letter positions and visual effects remain in page memory.

Pointer position, scrolling and interaction signals are handled in page memory to place effects, draw the optional cursor contrail and keep ordinary controls usable. Frank does not record typed message content or transmit these signals.

For the Chrome Web Store disclosures, website content includes visible message text; user activity means temporary pointer and interaction signals; web history refers to the current hostname and sites you explicitly mute. Frank does not maintain a chronological log of visited pages, titles or visit times.

Your content and controls

Effects hide text visually; they do not delete emails, edit saved documents, or send messages. Google Docs and editable fields are excluded. In Full and Monster, restore text from the extension popup or refresh the page. Uncaged has no Restore text button, cage or popup pause toggle; refreshing restores text, and Chrome’s Disable or Remove controls stop it. The full edition also provides pause, site-muting and effect selection. Every edition can always be disabled or removed in Chrome's Extensions settings. Removing the extension clears its extension storage.

Connections

Frank's animation code is bundled in the extension. It sends no page content or telemetry to our website. Clicking a website, privacy, help or store link opens that destination normally. The full edition includes a custom New Tab. In version 3.6.8 and later, its optional search box uses Chrome’s Search API to send your query to your selected default search provider only when you submit it. That provider’s privacy policy applies. Frank does not change your provider or store your searches. Older Full versions used a Google search form; update to respect your chosen provider.

This website is hosted on Vercel. Visiting it or downloading a file creates ordinary web requests; Vercel may process connection information such as your IP address and request metadata to deliver and secure the site. We have added no advertising or analytics scripts.

Limited use

Frank's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Locally handled page content is used solely to provide Frank's visible browser effects.
